Apple cake:
base: filling:
200 grams butter 2dl water
2 decilitres sugar 1dl sugar
4 eggs cinnamon and lemon juice
2 ½-3 dl wheat flour 3-5 apples
Make the filling first. Peel and slice apples. Boil the water and add sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon. Add the apples and boil them until they are soft. Cool it down and drain the apples.
Mix the butter and sugar until fluffy and add the eggs one by one. Stir in the flour. Apply half of the base onto a buttered dish and lay the filling on top. Apply the rest of the base on top of the filling and press it into shape with your fingers. Decorate the top with apple slices. Bake at 175C for about 70 minutes. Cool it down and eat with vanilla sauce or ice cream or without. (1dl = 0,42 US cups; 100g = 3,5 oz)
